The deepening co-operation to further between the Government and the NDI was the main theme of the joint meeting with Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister Kreshnik Ahmeti and NDI Regional Director for South Eastern Europe Robert Benjamin, NDI Director for Kosovo Nancy Soderberg, NDI Deputy Director in Kosovo Valon Kurhasani and the programme's Senior Manager, Pajtim Gashi.

“It released results and expectations for economic development, based on current projections and statistics by the end of this year, Kosovo will have an impressive two-way increase. According to the Kosovo Central Bank assessment, our economy will grow by 9.9%. As compared to the previous year, tax revenues for the January period September have increased by 33% and exports to 68%. Given this excellent economic performance, the 2022 draft is the highest and most inclusive ever, worth 2.75 billion euros”, the communique says.
Afterward Kurti stressed commitment to fighting corruption and organised crime, and intensifying the fight against smuggling, tax evasion and crime across the territory of the Republic, citing concrete results in seven months.
Regarding the current situation with pandemic, the prime minister announced that despite the fact that the government has accepted the task there have been no purchased or contracted vaccines, within seven months an estimated 1.6 million doses have been administered. So far there are about 63% of citizens over 16 vaccinated with at least one dose, while over 54% have received two doses of vaccine, which make Kosovo lead the region.
Also discussed was the importance of women's participation in policymaking and decision making, as well as the approach of institutions with citizens.
The summit's theme was local elections held, as well as the approaching runoff. The 17 October free and democratic elections were praised for their prosperity.
