For 9 months, the Biochemistry Clinic has offered more laboratory services than it had offered throughout the past year.
The director of this clinic, Shemsie Wessel, has said of Online Economics that they are aiming to overcome this figure by seeing the trend of patients seeking services at this clinic.
It's one of the clinics that's in service of all the other clinics, and there's a very big job here, because not only during the pandemic wave, it's done within the day at this time, up to 3,500-4000 tests, when we get the hemodialysis we have within the month in the protocol to do it, then it goes over 6 thousand tests”
We ran 5,500 tests during yesterday that were conducted in 24 hours. Totally for this nine month we've performed at the Biochemistry Clinic, which is over 1 million and 360 thousand tests conducted in nine months. If this train continues because it is sometimes dependent on supply and contracts, then I am convinced that we will pass this figure”, he said.
A lot of work says doctors are doing the lab specialist and technique. For the latter, Wessel says they still need, as they aim at increasing new capacities.
He also said that within 24 hours, over 10,000 tests were performed on the pandemic pit.
“As far as experts are concerned, we have enough doctors but we need little laboratory technician, because in our vision we have a new capacity increase. Otherwise it's a very great will. When it was the time of the pandemic at the peak stage, I remember that within 24 hours we ran 10,000 tests, and normally here was the steel will of our colleagues”.
Because we don't have the health system when it was a boat where we'd get a lot of relief, because there'd be no risk of mixing, although it rarely happens but that we immediately investigate”, he said.
Speaking of the services performed at this clinic, Wessel highlights the possibility of investing even more in health.
He says 120m euros are spent on citizens outside Kosovo for treatment, while adding that if these vehicles were invested in Kosovo, the situation would be better.
We're all actually witnessing that health has a very small budget, compared to the need to provide services. It is thus estimated that our citizens spend over 120 million within the year outside Kosovo, and if these tools were invested within Kosovo's health institutions, we would be in better condition, such as infrastructure, equipment and new services. If we have over 1 million and 360 thousand tests in nine months, and as if the health insurance and the possibility of co-paid by a euro that wouldn't hurt the patient, because that patient spends even more on private”, he said.
The biochemical sector has responded to every citizen request, where most of our colleagues have been infected because we haven't stopped because of patients. We have many patients who have been positive. The sector where we work has large risk belts of infection, but we haven't spared anybody”, he said.
