Interior Minister Xhelal Svecla has confirmed that the prosecutor of the case and the judge of the preliminary procedure are of Serbian nationalism. Svechla's statement came after Kosovo Police action in four Kosovo regions in the fight against smuggling and tax evasion.
He said that even most members of the fast response unit in Mitrovica are of Serbian ethnicity, while adding that most of those arrested and persons declared in the search are Albanian ethnicity.
“Allow me to inform you that the prosecutor of the case is Serbian, the judge of the preliminary procedure is Serb, members of the fast reaction unit in North Mitrovica, most of them are Serbs, most of those arrested are Albanians, most of the fugitives are Albanians, so it is not about any state response to anyone”, Svecla has said.
Furthermore, he also spoke of placing barricades on the road to Zubin Potok and the national in Leposaviq.
“We are constantly making assessments of the situation. The KP in co-operation with other Kosovo institutions has had initial information on a road barricade in Zubin Potok. That barricade is gone. There was information on the national road to Leposaviq. We still have no confirmed information on the current situation there. We will continue to make the right assessments and at the right moment we will take certain steps”, he said further.
