American diplomat Christopher Hill was appointed the new ambassador of the United States to Serbia.
The White House said the appointment was made by the American president, Joe Biden.
Hill is a good connoisseur of the region, since he was the deputy of Richard Holbrooke, leading American negotiators during talks in Dayton, which ended the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina in the 1990s.
Hill was also the US special envoy to Kosovo. He was also ambassador to Iraq, South Korea, Poland, Northern Macedonia, and briefly to Albania.
He will replace Anthonyfreyn, who has been US ambassador to Belgrade since November 2019.
