Scientists made the discovery by analyzing samples of human waste found in the heart of the Hallstat mine in Austrian alps.
Frank Mayxner, microbiologist at Italy's Bolzano Research Institute, which was the lead author in this report, said he was surprised to learn that miners over two thousand years ago had been as advanced as the “deliberately used fermented”, reports The Guardian, translates Periscope.
