Through a media communiqué, the SBASK has said it has been a year since the Constitutional decision and responsible institutions, and the Government with or without purpose have forgotten the Law of Salaries.
In this regard, the SBASK warned that protests and strikes -- which the SBASK and other unions do not want -- will return, but will act on membership requirements because that is their obligation.

Government's Arres to Pay Law Will Return Protests, Strikes
The drafting and preparation of the wage Law was accompanied by heated debates between institutions and some of the unions, and protests and strikes were not absent. The law was shaped after many meetings and commitments and passed through parliamentary commissions and into the Kosovo Parliament itself. Most employees in public services began to breathe more freely and expected to see the implementation of this law and its effects.
However, the ombudsman sent him to the Constitutional and the highest body of justice after two suspensions had decided to abolish this law altogether - to return him to the institutions with recommendations for them to improve their mistakes and proceed. The Constitution had not said that this law should never be done, and therefore the majority of employees in the public sector -- that is, in education, health, police, firemen, administrations and others -- expressed disappointment at what happened, but held hope that the Government would form the responsible commission in co-operation with trade unions and start the required improvements by the Constitution.
But it has been more than a year since the Constitutional decision and, based on reality, it is seen that the Government and all the responsible institutions, with or without purpose, have completely forgotten the wage Law and that their move and lack of readiness for dialogue with trade unions creates discontent, that continues to increase, and that will bring back protests and strikes, which the SBSF and other unions do not want, but will act on the basis of membership requirements because that is their obligation.
