For the first time, Queen Elizabeth II attended a large public event, using a walking stick. The Sovereign attended the centennial of the British Royal Legion in Westminster Abbey in London.
She appeared as always in excellent shape, despite her 95 years. The staff was given to her by a member of the royal staff as she left the limo.
The queen has used it more to move on the stone - paved path before the abbey without pointing to trouble walking. It was previously seen using a stick in 2003 and 2004 after a knee surgery, but it was for a specific medical reason at the time.
