Police claim again: Ten police officers were injured in the north.

Police have also issued a news release for today's action. It says that the aim of the police operation was to prevent and combat smuggling in several Kosovo regions (Pristina, Peja, Mitrovica South, Mitrovica North and Zveqa), respectively, control of 26 suspected locations, sequencing smuggled goods and arresting persons suspected of smuggling.

But the situation in the north was tense, police stress that there were organised criminal groups rounding up, creating roadblocks with various means of transport, using gas tanks, bombs, firearms and hand grenades, with the aim of obstructing and attacking police and customs officials, who have been in charge of official office.

Therefore, <x0 referenced the created situation, the direct endangerment of officials, roadblocks, use of gas balloons, bombs, the use of firearms and hand grenades by suspected persons, as well as the damage/burning of official vehicles, Kosovo Police have been forced to take police action using necessary legal means, with the aim of providing security to officials involved in the operation and citizens of that area”, the police report reported.

As a result of shooting by various lethal means towards police officials, it has been reported that (10) police officials have suffered bodily injuries, of them (7) Albanian national officials and (3) officials of Serbian nationalism. Based on initial information, one of the persons involved in the attack on police officials has been injured.

“As a result of the professional actions of police officials to this stage have been arrested and accompanied eight (8) persons suspected of smuggling goods, and (10) other suspected persons have been declared in police search. Also seized are goods and various evidence smuggled in value of hundreds of thousands of euros, which serve as material evidence, which have been located in various locations, local business sites, warehouses/depo and etc”, police further stress.
