The Democratic Party of Kosovo has commemorated the anniversary of the 68th demonstrations against violence and oppressive Yugoslav politics against Albanians, affirming the Albanian people's commitment to seeking their rights.
In a post on this party's Facebook page, it is said that with these demonstrations the demands for republic's Kosovo, for free use of the national flag, and for the establishment of Pristina university were first diagnosed.
The “Demonstrates of 1968, the year that coincided with the 500th anniversary of the death of our national hero Skenderbeu, represented a glorious moment in our history after the national consciousness re-run, internationalised the Albanian issue and forced power to meet some of the demands of the Albanian people. Respect and gratitude for that generation of young people who organised those demonstrations without being intimidated by police terror.”, said the PDK's post.
