All four officers injured during the Kosovo Police and Customs action in the country's north against smuggling of goods have been released in stable condition.
Kosovo Hospital Clinical and University Service Director Valbon Krasniqi has provided details about their situation.
“Based on the information we have received from the Emergency Centre medical teams has been presented as four police officials who have already been released home and their situation is stable. They have slight marks on their bodies and they have been given their checks”, Krasniqi said.
Krasniqi further said there is no danger that any other official from the Mitrovica hospital could be brought in.
We are now in contact with the Mitrovica Hospital and do not have any information that could bring any other injured person”.
Regarding the state of police members, the caretaker doctor, Leutrim Hajdari, also spoke, who said they would already receive adequate additional treatment in their homes.
“First police officials have been treated at Mitrovica Hospital, while for further treatment they have come to us. Based on the tests done and the tests where they've all been able to stabilize, and two of them have been observed as having foreign bodies in their bodies as a result of explosive devices in one in the region of the head and the other in the right arm. All have already been released”.
