Kurti: Kosovo citizenship recognition by Serbia has no alternative

Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti has said Saturday at a meeting with several members of the European Parliament that talks between Kosovo and Serbia have no alternative, just as Serbia's recognition of Kosovo's citizenship. “In dialogue in Brussels we are for a new chapter of normalisation of relations between the two states [...]
“In the dialogue in Brussels, we are for a new chapter of normalisation of relations between our two states, where we resolve outstanding issues with mutual recognition, Kurti has said.
He has hosted the eurodeput delegation at the helm with the representative for Kosovo in the European Parliament, Violet von Cromon, in Pristina on Saturday.
In a communiqué to the media, Prime Minister Kurti is said to have discussed with the European side for recognising Kosovo's independence from the five non-recognitional countries of the European Union, for the visa liberalisation process and the support the European bloc has offered to Kosovo through the division of vaccines against corruption.
The discussion has also been the Kosovo Police's operation against smuggling goods to several Kosovo cities.
“This was a normal police operation that has performed the work professionally and under legal procedures”, Kurti was quoted as saying.
Von Croamon, on the other hand, has thanked Kosovo's institutions for accepting Afghan refugees, as well as speaking of reforms initiated in justice, fighting organised crime and corruption, as well as preserving institutional stability.
Currently in this Kosovo are about 700 Afghan refugees who have been evacuated from the United States after taking control of the Taliban in Afghanistan.
About 100 of them have already left Kosovo towards the United Kingdom.
The remaining portion will remain temporarily in Kosovo, until the finalisation of the legal procedures for permanent shift to the US or other European countries. /rel
