Some bus companies have already begun freezing ticket prices. Students are suffering most from this price hike. Student Manjola Gjini to come to Pristina today has changed several bus lines. He noticed the change in the prize on the Ferizaj-Pristina bus.

From one euro as much as the price has been for students, now according to her, it has become 1.50 euros.

I'm a student, and I'm from Kachanic. We've had the Ferizaj-Pristina Award rise now, 1.50 euros ago. This award has damaged students, from the Kachanic to Ferizaj, there is no rising, I think this price should be what it used to be, said she.

Citizen Daline Vranovci said the ticket price has been raised as a result of the oil price.

There was a 50-center price rise, especially for the student part. I think it's high because the students are traveling every day and 1.50 euros is a high price, given that they don't work and don't have income. The price is high, but here I think it's not the fault of bus companies, but it's the policy and the price of oil”, she said.

In addition to Ferizaj, ticket prices have been raised for Pristina-Drenas and Pristina-Skenderaj lines.

Zenel Tvorani, who was now traveling to the village of Terstnik in Drenas, said this increase and the price of tickets is washed out in view of wages in Kosovo.

“We have an increase in the price of tickets has been 1 euro now is 1 and 50 euros, with our terms raising the price is huge. Now the derivatives for our living conditions, what salaries we have most unemployed, prices are at”, he said.

Curtisji: Society has not increased ticket price, but companies

Road Transport Association Chairman Ruzhdi Kurtisaj, for FrontOnline, said that the price hike was done individually by the agency, not on behalf of the association.

The price has not increased on behalf of the association, but has individually increased companies”, Curtisaj said.

And this increase in ticket prices, according to Kurtishaj, is reasonable, given the price of oil and other bus - maintenance products.

The “road transport sector is the most damaged in Kosovo. This isn't about pandemic, but it's about the pandemic, so we're the most damaged sector because of the value-added internal tax law. The second has to do with the pandemic, which has destroyed this sector, the latter is added to the large change in the price of oil, or the dramatic increase in the price of oil as it has been in the same period last year around 1 euro, and now it's somewhere around 1,28 so that we have about 30 %s increase in the oil price, he said.

Beryn: Oil derivative prices to be raised by year's end

The rising price of oil derivatives will not end there.

The lift is expected to take place the following days.

It has been made known, the chairman of the Association of Oilmen of Kosovo, Fadil Berjan.

“According to information expected there will be no halt, there will be an increase by January 1st. After January it is expected to have more production of derivatives, and when we have more derivatives production, the price I believe is cheaper”, he said.

Berjan said Kosovo and Northern Macedonia, in terms of the price of oil derivatives, are the cheapest in the region.

“As far as the price hike in Kosovo today is concerned, prices are brought by 1.16 to 1,22 oil, while gasoline behaves 1.20 to 1,27 approximately. We in the region are the cheapest, today in Albania 1.52 is oil and 1.55 is gasoline. As for the price, we are the cheapest in the region besides North Macedonia, which has the excise for 22 cents lower, while we have the same gasoline”, he said.
