Hoti: We started working at five locations in Kosovo for mass cemetery

The chairman of the government commission, Andy Hoti, has said that as a commission, but also in co-operation with the Ministry of Justice are working on changing the Law for the Un find.

He added that there were addressed their demands and family requests, which affect the law on war categories and pensions.

One of the main challenges is lack of verified information, we are witnesses that there has been false information from Serbia. One of the challenges we have addressed two weeks ago in Brussels is access to Serbian Army and police state archives. He has said he has asked several times to increase pressure on Serbia not to address the issue politically but humanely.

“We have requested from Lajcak a guarantee that this issue will have a deadline for resolution. We basically agreed on this but we don't have a deal, this issue can't last to the endless”, he said.

MP Duda Balje has asked where Kosovo's weakness is in the issue of the found.

“City can pressure Serbia. What is your address”, she asked.

Hoti has said that one of the shortages is the staff, for which they have already requested capacity upgrades, even from the embassies we support.

Our disaster is that we deal with a state like Serbia. Where we can pressure the EU, our partner states and they put pressure on Serbia. Serbia has said it has given Kosovo 2,000 documents, but the question is simple: where is my parent and more than 1600 people. So they can give us documents but they don't matter”, he said.

MP Saranda Bogujevci has said the parliamentary Commission must play a more active role in the issue, not interfere with the work of the government commission.

She has asked what specifically they can as a parliamentary commission to undertake to push the issue of missing persons forward.

“We are also eligible as deputies with a more active role”, she has said.

Hoti has said they will handle the issue of a member they have delegated to deal with the issue and are considering him the third member of the commission. It is necessary that as a parliamentary commission we have support from you, needed to clarify even international friends that Kosovo handles this human issue, while Serbia is not, it is hiding troops. Currently missing persons are without status, they are considered victims, and we need help here because I don't think they should be considered victims, I think they should have special status, I'm not judging if they should have witness status”, he said.
