EU US reacts after “split rhetoric” in Bosnia

In US Secretary of State Antony Blinken's joint statement, and EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell, it is said that the United States and the European Union are “united in their firm support for Bosnia and Herzegovina's territorial integrity, as well as their joint work to promote electoral and constitutional reform and to maintain the functionality of state institutions”.
The joint statement was issued after lawmakers in Republika Srpska, part of Bosnia, adopted a new law that could undermine this state's constitution, writes Free Europe.
The Law on Equipment and Medical Drug Equipment adopted on Wednesday by the Republika Srpska National Assembly envisions the establishment of the Agency for Equipment and Medical Medicine as “Independent administrative organisation” with “thestatus of the legal entity”.
“There is no constitutional way for one entity to withdraw unilaterally from state institutions”, the US Embassy in Bosnia said in a statement to Radio “Free Europe@x3>, after the new law was passed.
