After today's action of the Kosovo Police and the Special Unit in northern Mitrovica, which has begun since early hours of the morning, and is still under way, the mayor of the municipality, Agim Bahtiri, appeals for maturity and discretion among citizens, not to fall prey to provocations and any unpleasant situations, to preserve the coolness, and of course not become part of the shares which would stabilise security, but to act only on the basis of Kosovo Police guidelines”, the municipality sent by Mitrovica municipality reported.
Bahtiri is repeatedly accused of using developments in the north to boost his popularity in local elections, where he races as a candidate for another four-year term.
