Customs Union reacts following attacks on customs, police officers in the north

Kosovo's Independent Customs Union has reacted to the situation created yesterday in northern Mitrovica.

As a result of the transition of the situation, according to the union, the lives of customs and police officers who were doing their jobs under their mandate have been endangered.

Kosovo Customs's (19x0) Independent Environment strongly condemns the recent attack on customs and police workers and calls on responsible institutions to create conditions not to endanger the health and lives of workers and simultaneously appeal to the country's citizens for the support of Kosovo Customs in their work, both in the collection of revenues and in the fight against organised crime and smuggling”, says the Customs Union's response.

The SPDK has expressed regret over the incident and wishes quick recovery to all the injured in yesterday's event.
