Central Election Commission Chairman Kreshnik Radoniqi has indicated that by relying on information from municipal election commissions, the voting process is under way and no incidents have been presented that would damage the election process.
Radoniki, at the second CEC media conference, said that according to preliminary data from 98 percent of the polling period, the number of citizens rightly voting by 11:00 is 8.2 percent, or about 152 thousand voters.
“at the same time in the 2017 local elections had voted 10.34 per cent”, he said.
The polling stations are open at 7: 00 a.m. and close at 7: 00 p.m., while 166 candidates for the post of mayors, 152 males and 14 women are in those elections.
The number of candidates for municipal assemblies is 5,198, out of them 3,261 males and 1,937 females.
The total number of certified candidates is 5,364.
Meanwhile, the final voter list for the 2021 Local Elections contains 1 million and 885 thousand and 448 voter names, or 90 thousand and 586 more voters, compared to the early elections for the Kosovo Assembly, which were held on February 14th 2021.
