The British Embassy in Kosovo has voiced support for yesterday's action in several municipalities for stopping smuggling with goods and organised crime.

Over a Facebook post, this embassy has said that the action against organised crime is in the interest of all Kosovo citizens.

“Efforts to prevent this action by violence, as well as the use of promotional rhetoric, only serve to help those seeking to create divisions among communities in Kosovo”, the report said.

Full announcement:

The move against organised crime is in the interest of all Kosovo citizens and we support the Government of Kosovo in respecting rule of law throughout Kosovo.

Efforts to prevent this act by violence, as well as the use of promotional rhetoric, serve only to help those seeking to create divisions among communities in Kosovo.

We are also concerned about reports of intimidation of journalists trying to do their job and report facts on the ground. Journalists have the right to act in a safe environment, and those who threaten it must take responsibility.
