21 municipalities head to runoff, 17 elect new mayors

The winner of this election run is the Serbian List, which won nine municipalities out of 10 just running. The second is the Democratic Party of Kosovo, which in this election won without a run-off in Skenderaj, Mitrovica, Ferizaj, Kacanik and in Han and Elez.

The third is the Democratic League of Kosovo, which has won in Pec and Lipjan, while as many municipalities as the LDK has the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, which managed to retain power in Suhareka and Decani.

The winner of the February 14th national elections, however, Vetevendosje Movement has failed to hold any municipality in which it ruled.

While, according to the Central Election Commission, 21 municipalities will go to the runoff, among them all major municipalities except Mitrovica and Peja.

In Pristina, the race for the run-off will be between Arben the Year of the Vetevendosje Movement and Progress Rama of the Democratic League of Kosovo.

Races in the run-off will also take place in Podujevo, where LDK candidate Ekrem Hyseni is currently leading, while the second is the Vetvendosje Movement's Bulliqi.

In two municipalities considered the LDK's bets -- Fushe Kosova and Gjilan -- will be in the race with Vetevendosje Movement.

In Fushe Kosovo, Burim Berisha will face the VV runoff, Enver Bajcinca, while Alban Hyseni leads the race in Gjilan to Lutfi Haziri.

The Vetevendosje movement has failed to win Prizren without a run-off. In the run-off race, the VV will face Schikir Totay and the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

The LDK will also be in the runoff in the Yunik municipality, where it will be in the race with the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo.

NISMA Social Democrat has failed to win what was known as its bastion, Malisheva. In this municipality, NISMA will be in the race with the Democratic Party of Kosovo.

The Social Democrat Party's Kastrati will face his former front, Vetevendosje, in the run-off race in Kamenica.

The runoff will also take place in Obilic, Year, Kacanik, Shtime, Rahovec, Gjakova, Dragash, Istog, Vushtrri, Drenas, Klokot and Junik
