Criminal charges have been filed, CNN reports. What she may have done is 22-year-old Riley June Williams of Pennsylvania, who is accused of entering the building during the Congress siege and the laptop theft of House Speaker Nancy Pelos.
The alleged witness told investigators that Williams' friends released a video showing him stealing the device and told him that she intended to send computer equipment to a friend in Russia who later planned to sell it to the Russian foreign intelligence service.
According to the witness, however, the plan failed for unknown reasons, and Williams has either mastered the device or destroyed it ever since.
As it has been said, the whole case is still under investigation, and Williams has not yet been arrested.
