Mexican authorities said they are studying the case of a 32-year-old doctor who was admitted to the hospital after taking the Pfizer vaccine. - BioNTech vs. COVID-19.
The doctor, whose name has not been disclosed, was admitted to the intensive care unit of a public hospital in the northern state of Nuevo Leon after she experienced crisis, breathing difficulties and a rash of skin.
The initial diagnosis is encephalomieli,” the Health Ministry said in a statement issued Friday evening. Encepfalomiel is an inflammation of the brain and spinal cord.
The ministry added that medicine has a history of allergic reactions and said there is no evidence of clinical evidence that someone has developed a brain inflammation following the application of the vaccine.
Pfizer and BioNTech could not be achieved immediately for comments, Reuters reports.
Over 126,500 people have died from COVID-19 in Mexico. The country began distributing first round of anti vaccines CO VID-19 for healthcare workers on December 24th.
