Scandalous: Karacheva Group smuggled sick Kosovars' food animals

In the midst of a series of criminal acts “Karacheva group” is also accused of smuggling sick animals, which pose a potential risk to general social security.

In the prosecution's case file Karacheva, which has managed to secure Inseder, police officials involved in this criminal group are said to have systematically smuggled sick animals and other goods, which have been introduced through Serbia on Kosovo territory.

“Should point out that the actions of the suspects except that they have financially damaged the consolidated budget of the Republic of Kosovo and the benefits it has brought to the suspects, in the concrete case we consider that smuggling these animals into such form poses potential risks for general social security”, the file says.

The ratio of these animals (there have been cases that have also been transported to sick cattle...) markets in the Republic of Kosovo and their conversion to general consumer products without being subjected to any strict control by relevant institutions according to the standards in power, may be as harmful to health as possible to our own” society, the prosecution's file notes.

Insander has also learned the way animal smuggling has been carried out and in which cities have become the distribution of meat, potentially broken because there has been no strict control.

The illegal street smugglers have originally taken them to the Kamenica region via the borderline with Serbia by carrying them in trucks, tractors or even on foot, and then their distribution has also been made by transport vehicles, sending them to the slaughterhouses, but the plant for the production of meat products through different centres of the Republic of Kosovo such as Gjilan, Prizren, Gjakova, Suhareka, Pristina...”, followed further.

Scandalous is the fact that businesses that have been supplied by this network have been informed about the way meat is distributed, and they have distributed the same in different forms of citizen consumption.

Gjilan's Basic Prosecutor's File extends the entire organization of smuggling with goods, organising pyramid schemes of illegal gambling in case of Karacheva. In this major action by the Special Police and Police Inspectorate Unit in Karacheva in Kamenica in the border area between Kosovo and Serbia, a total of 33 persons were arrested, including police officials who in various forms had helped this crime and were also part of it. For 30 of them, the Gjilan Prosecution has sought detention in the 30-day term.
