Days ago, after testing, two students and six teachers came up positive with COVID-19. But that number grew after others were tested.
News of Gazeta Express has confirmed the education director in this municipality, Africa Naman, who said that as of now 44 teachers have been tested.
Their state of health is good, and everyone is free of symptoms, so Naman suggested.
But, with the Health Ministry's decision, the school is closed and learning is continuing online.
The Express newspaper has also contacted the school principal, Shyqri Bunnjak, who said the school will remain closed for two weeks.
Bulnjak said that next week, along with the Wushtrri Community Task Force, they will analyse the situation in which the school is located, as pre-school classes will also be tested.
We're in that phase where we're doing tests in classrooms and we're finished, we've only got a pre-schooler left. The situation in other classes is good. The number of students at school is huge, we have over a thousand students, so next week we're thinking about doing an analysis, taking the results of all the classes, and then with the municipality Task Force, we're going to analyze what we have and what to do next. The Health Ministry's decision is that the school should stay closed for two weeks”, Bulnjak told Express.
While the mayor of this municipality, Xhafer Tahiri, after the positive outcome of some teachers has said that the decision to return to school will be taken depending on the epidemiological situation.
“Task Community Force, Emergency Staff and OWS, August and IKSHPK will convey the situation and in time make a decision to return to school depending on the epidemiological situation”, Tahiri had written on the social Facebook network.
While, Education and Science Minister Rame Likaj had announced that over 1,500 teachers across Kosovo's territory will be tested for coronary.
In guidelines from the Kosovo National Institute of Public Health (IKSHPK), to maintain student health in schools, it is said that the school should ensure that the specific distance of security is respected at least 1.5m, each student and the school staff should be measured through the laser thermometers every day.
The overall number of teachers at the country level is estimated to be over 23 thousand.
