Kosovo establishes Office for Offering Assistance to Citizens of Presevo Valley

The Kosovo government has established the Office to provide assistance to citizens of the Presevo Valley.
With no vote against, the cabinet of the Government of Kosovo with Deputy Prime Minister Driton Selmanaj's proposal has approved the proposal for establishing the Office for providing assistance to the citizens of the Presevo Valley.
According to Selmanaj, this office will be within the framework of the Prime Minister's Office.
Selmanaj has also indicated what this Office will offer to citizens of the Presevo Valley.
“Zyra is founded in order to provide support to citizens living in the Presevo Valley region. The prime minister appoints the director of the Office for providing assistance to citizens of the Presevo Valley who is also a prime minister's adviser and respond directly to it. The government of the Republic of Kosovo through this office, based on legislation in force, commits itself to taking necessary measures to facilitate and improve the lives of citizens living in the Presevo Valley in areas as follows, but not limited to them. In the field of education and culture, initiatives initiated earlier will be supported, such as the memorandum of co-operation between the Albanian National Council and the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and other memorandums, financing the construction of the music school, etc. Regular supply with necessary textbooks, supply of required books libraries, acceptance of students from the Presevo Valley of Public Universities based on specific quotas that take into account the needs of educational institutions and other institutions in the Valley, as well as their support during studies. Support of cultural and sports activities, support of local media and NGOs, which in their goals have educational, cultural and youth support. In the area of the economy, support for associations, businesses from Kosovo with businesses and associations from Presevo Valley, support for businesses from Valley to participate in other business fairs and organisations in Kosovo. Initiating cross-border co-operation of municipalities in Kosovo and the municipalities in the Valley, determining a quota for Valley citizens in the training programme for various trades”, Selmanaj has indicated.
This proposal was voted on by all members of the Kosovo government cabinet.
