Serbia's government continues construction in north, Albanian at 7 years cannot build a house

He's building the house on his own.

Halil Ahmeti from the village of Suhadol, has been building this house north of Mitrovica for seven years now.

But since then, it has not yet been finalised, since it has no financial potential, while lacking support even from Kosovo institutions.

The concern for him is that Serbs the fact that this area is being populated even more with Serbs, but that Halil Ahmeti vows he will not be displaced from his native country.

Meanwhile, Serbian investments in the neighbourhood known as “Sun Valley” is not stopping.

Dozens of houses have only been finalised in this part of the Zvecan municipality, while even residence in this section has already begun.

There is no shortage of churches and schools, and many local and other homes are under construction.

Meanwhile, all the time that the T7 team stayed in the Valley of the Sun was being observed by its keepers.

Hafiz Mehmeti residents from the neighbouring village say Albanian residents from this part cannot return to their lands, while according to him these properties are being filled with Serbs every day and more.

While these Serb construction in this part is illegal, they are being named by the northern Mitrovica Council.

Nazimi Ismajli warns the Kosovo government that if more Albanian residents living in northern Mitrovica are not supported, they will go on hunger strike.

In the past in northern Mitrovica, with financing from the Kosovo government several houses have been built for Albanians who have returned to the area.
