On July 10th, a virtual summit between Kosovo and Serbia is expected to be held under the mediation of French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. This summit, attended by European Union High Representative Josep Borrell, is reportedly aimed at facilitating normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia.
Meanwhile, on 12 July, Kosovo Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti will meet in Brussels with Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq. This meeting between Hoti and Vuciqi will mark the resumption of dialogue, under the European Union's mediation.
Dialogue, with the European Union's mediation, started in 2011. The process was halted in late 2018, due to a tax imposed by Kosovo authorities on Serbia's goods. This move was then replaced with reciprocity.
But, the Kosovo government in June decided to lift reciprocity measures in order to give it a chance to restart dialogue.
