Fear of the spread of the Ovid 19 pandemic seems to have held off Kosovar vacationers, who for their destination had the Albanian coast.
The number of vacationers from Kosovo, June this year, has been halved compared to that of the previous year, even though for vacationers from this country, Albania is the only destination at the moment.
Data from the Vermica-Morine border point shows that during June 2019, over 260 thousand Kosovars were heading towards the Albanian coast, while during June of this year over 128 thousand.
However, this has changed in the first week of July of this year.
Only from July 1st to 5th of this year over 26 thousand Kosovars have entered Albania, while that figure was less during 2019, that is 24 thousand.
This year, the Covid-19 pandemic has changed Kosovars' tourist destinations. Unlike past seasons, when tourists from Kosovo chose between Albania, Turkey, Montenegro and
Croatia, now the almost only destination has remained Albania. As Montenegro currently requires a negative test as evidence to enter this country.
