Last night a nine-year-old girl was attacked by stray dogs on “road. Sylejman Vokshi” in Pristina, causing serious injuries.
Pristina chairman Shpend Ahmeti has reacted to the case.
Ahmeti said the municipality he heads has spent mostly on treatment and that he has precisely respected the Law on the Protection of Animal Rights.
He has criticised the Kosovo government since it has passed this law has not yet shared the promised 1.3 million.

I've been sending paperwork to central-level institutions for stray dogs for over three years. Among other things, I've been looking for national strategies for this case.
The Pristina municipality is the municipality that has mostly spent in treatment, and the municipality that has precisely respected the Law on the Protection of Animal Rights. It's easy to pass the Law on European paper and then don't get involved with it.
What happened to 1.3 million euros separated from the Central Level on this issue?
Even in the letter sent to the Security Council, where I have been asked to address this issue as a matter of security, I have been received with contempt.
I've said that when tragedies happen, we mourn.
We're taking shelter, and we're treating dogs and taking them back to the streets. We're also feeding them to avoid aggressive behavior.
But it cannot be done only in Pristina. This time it's bite and hurt, what next time? Then we move to the next explosion.
