President: Congratulations on signing the agreement for demilitarisation and transformation of the KLA. I am very happy that it happened the same day that Serbian forces completely withdrew from Kosovo.
Kosovo leader Thaci: Thank you. It's an honor you're begging us for demilitarizing and transforming the KLA. For us, it has been a compromise to work toward peace and endurance in Kosovo and the region.
President: I know. And I'm grateful for that. I can assure you that we will fully co-operate to bring security, a police force and self-government to Kosovo citizens. This is a very important day for Kosovo. I'm so glad we could change the direction of ethnic cleansing in Kosovo.
Kosovo leader Thaci: This process is also the result of your efforts. In the past we have been committed to the peace process and will continue to be committed. We can guarantee that we will respect human rights as well as minority rights in Kosovo. We are committed to bringing freedom, peace and democracy to all ethnic groups in Kosovo. Also, we will work for a clean and open economy. Our discussion today will be like the initiative toward these goals.
President: Your statement about respect for human rights and respect for minority rights is very important. After the human suffering in Kosovo, your action on respecting these rights will prove to all that our promise to you is fair. Milosevic is not like the others. We'll have a good future. I look forward to meeting you and admire your leadership.
Kosovo leader Thaci: Thank you, Mr. President. Our new battle ahead is the return of refugees, reconstruction, the founding of civil society and the holding of free and clean elections. We will do this through our mechanisms, but also with your help and support. I wish you good health and success in your work and life.
President: Thank you. Bye.
