“In view of data evolution, WHO advises governments to encourage the general public to use masks, when broadcast is widespread and physical distance is impossible”, said WHO head Tedros Adhanom Ghereseus, during a press conference.
“S second, we recommend that people aged 60 or those suffering from pre-existing medical problems wear a mask, in situations where physical distance is not possible”, he added.
Ghebrès noted that new guidelines were developed after examining available data and consultations with many civil society experts and groups.
