Media in Serbia reported that the chairman of the Republika Srpska List, who is deputy prime minister and minister in the Government of Kosovo, has removed the flag and other state symbols from his office.
The prime minister's office in a response to Gazeta Express has said the Kosovo flag has not left the Government's space, where Rakiqi works.
Deputy Prime Minister Goran Rakic has not removed any Kosovo symbols, nor has the flag, from his office. The issue of the use of symbols is determined by the State Protocol, so each official is obliged to adhere to this protocol. As for the controversial case in the media, we assure you that the symbols are where they were and there is no removal of them”, said the ZKM's response.
Meanwhile, B92 has published photos of Rakiqi meetings with representatives of foreign missions, including US Ambassador Philip Costett, and no symbol is seen in either.
Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Administration and Local Self-Government Goran Rakic removed the so-called Kosovo flag from his cabinet. The flag was used at official meetings by his predecessor, Emilja Rexhepi<1>, the Serbian medium wrote.
President Hashim Thaci has spoken about the issue today. He said they have no place in institutions for people who do not respect Kosovo's symbols.
