The White House announced that the country's leading health official Anthony Fauci will not testify next week before a congressional commission, scheduled to review the Trump administration's response to the body's pandemic.
The White House said it is “counter-productive” that individuals involved in the effort to respond to the pandemic to testify in Congress. Dr Fauci's testimony was requested by a House of Representatives subcommittee for the appointment of funds that handles health programmes and was scheduled for May 6th.
Dr. Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, is one of the leading experts assisting the White House in its response to the coronary.
