Early next week on May 18th, the second phase of easing measures about the body's pandemic in Kosovo is expected to begin. It was announced days ago by incumbent Prime Minister Albin Kurti. Among the many businesses that are about to resume their jobs, urban transportation will also be included with special permits.
But this is emerging to be problematic and almost unclear to the Road Transport Association in Kosovo. Ruzhdi Kurtisha, who is the leader of this association, has said Kurti Government's decision is not the right one. According to him, this relief of urban and interjuan transport measures is not valid for all citizens.
The re-opening of urban transport and interspan with special permission is unclear because this does not include all citizens who want to move, but only company employees who have contracted travel”, Kurtisha for Inseder has declared. He has already suggested how the association has met with Infrastructure Minister Lumir Abdziku, but according to him there are no detailed clarifications from Prime Minister Kurti. Kurtisaj said this easing of the measures would also be problematic in terms of the movement of citizens from municipality to municipality.
“This is quite problematic because the free hour of citizens' movement is twice a day by two hours, and whoever will travel from Prizren to Pristina and then vice versa, the two hours will not be enough”, has added further. He has stated that if no economic measures are taken, with many transport businesses having large losses, travel prices could increase. “If IKSHPK measures are respected in connection with keeping the travel distance on the bus, and a bus restricts the number of travelers, prices can undoubtedly increase”, it has ended.
