Unemployment in Kosovo could increase by 10%, it takes six months to know exact figures

The crisis created by Coronavirus' pandemic in Kosovo's economy has left many private sector workers without jobs, moving to an increase in unemployment rates. The chairman of the Union of Independent Trade Unions of Kosovo (BSPK), Avni Aydin, in an interview for Online Economics has said unemployment in Kosovo has always been pronounced, but now with the spread of Coronavirus can grow 5 to 10 %s.

Aydin says there can be no reduction in unemployment at the time of pandemic. Days earlier Kosovo's incumbent Minister of Finance Besnik Bislimi said he lowered unemployment in Kosovo by 6.6 per cent, while 32 377 people in Kosovo have applied to seek work.
