South Korean health officials today said patients who are positive again with the Cavid-19 virus, and who have already had a disease, are not infected.
The country's Centers for Disease Control announced this after the 108 laboratory tests of 108 samples and the epidemiological investigation of 285 cases, in order to determine whether coronary patients should be quarantined two weeks after leaving the hospital, CNN reports.
As reported, 790 close contacts were tested by 285 patients who were again positive with the virus after recovery, yet none of them were infected.
Centre Director Jung Eun Kyeong said he didn't know exactly why some tested patients were positive, but that he believes the test PCR discovered parts of the dead virus.
He added that when a positive sample was isolated and cultured, the coronary virus was not discovered by tests The PCR, therefore, concluded that the virus was not contagious.
