The head of the Parliamentary Commission for Health, Albena Resiti, has come up with counter-responsion to the Ministry of Health, following allegations of dezinformities about the work of this ministry and its subordinate institutions during the management of the Devid-19 pandemic.

In a Facebook post, Resitaj says that yesterday's MSH response represents a tendency by the Government in office to pressure the people's elected to take control so that even MPs' statements can be on the line of their propaganda.

And I want to remind Minister Vitita that Kosovo is the Republic with the Parliamentary System, based on the principle of separation of powers, control and balance between them, and the Assembly is the one that monitors the work of the Government. The tendency to introduce under the dictates even the freedom to express MPs should also be seen as an ominous to the level of democracy that this government's political mind in office wants to install in the country”, Resitiaj wrote.

Full Posting:

Yesterday's health ministry response is nothing but a tendency of the Government in office that through such reactions and without grounds put pressure on the people's choice to take control so that even MPs' statements can be on the line of their propaganda.

Through this reaction I want to remind Minister Vitita that Kosovo is the Republic with the Parliamentary system, based on the principle of separation of powers, control and balance between them, and the Assembly is the one that monitors the work of the Government.
The tendency to introduce under the dictates even the freedom of the MP's speech should be seen as an ominous to the level of democracy that this political thought of the government in office wants to be installed in the country.

For the sake of fair information by all citizens, regarding the response of the Ministry of Health and the National Public Health Institute in Kosovo to my statement given after the meeting we had yesterday at the Parliamentary Commission for Health and Social Goodness, I want to make this public clarification.

The Commission for Health and Social Goodness with the aim of getting information closely with all developments regarding the situation with Ovid-19, as well as its management, yesterday on May 19th, there were guests at the commission meeting Mr. IKSHPK's director. Naser Ramadanin and USKUK director Mr. Basri Sejdiu.

This meeting was held in the Kosovo Assembly, and there were seven (7) members of the commission, of course, all that was said at this meeting there is video recordings, while today I have asked the Kosovo Assembly Administration to release the transcript of this meeting, which we will share with broad opinion.

As to the challenges and challenges that have been faced I KSHPK during this time since the country has been affected by Pandima with Covid 19, director of this institute Professor Ramadani has informed us of the following:
Describing the challenges and work that has been done during this time in the IKSHPK and also expressing gratitude for the work and dedication of IKSHPK staff Professor Ramadani other honours that the IKSHPK and its staff have faced:
• Lack of literal legal infrastructure;
• The lack of specific labs, which, according to him, has prompted the IKSHPK to ask for assistance from donors, but the same requirement for support in developing laboratory capacities has also been submitted to the commission;
• Prolonged hours for IKSHPK staff as well as intense complaints about their food;
• For his dismissal by the USKKUK board, it says this falsehood-based dismissal has seriously damaged it;
• There were so many loads that it had to work not only as Epidemiologist and Director of the Institute but also do other jobs like those of the cleaner, guard, technical personnel, and so on.

Now when all these situations and so forth I The KSHPK itself from its leader, we can see that this institution that has really carried the main burden for this period of pandemic has had institutional support or not.
As for discussions, questions and concerns that have been raised by us as members of the commission concerning testing for individuals 19 respectively, do not test all those who have returned from outside Professor Ramadani has informed us as follows:
• As an epidemiology manager of pandemic didn't know the amount of tests;
• Kosovo has not had capacity and opportunity to run tests for the hands of all repatriated;
• According to him, Kosovo should have closed borders on January 1st

Notified the number of testings in the country to 1 million people, which is much smaller compared to the countries in the region, we are saying the last in the Western Balkans with the number of tests to 1 million people, only Albania has this lower figure. While comparing these data with EU countries, the gap is even greater.

So according to this, it turns out that not enough tests have been done, while the OV has denied not to have had a lack of laboratory capacity, so if so, let us tell us what's the reason for such a small number of tests, it was because of lack of tests or lack of other capabilities.

Finally, I want to remind the acting minister that with such and baseless reactions, one cannot justify failings in managing the situation with the Pandemi code 19. As a parliamentary commission, but also as a medical professional, I have called on to secure tests and test as many citizens as possible, raise the level of inter-institutional co-operation, and mobilise all medical professionals.

Prof. Ass. Dr. Albena Reshai
