Some of the respondents express concern that the record pace with which vaccines are developing can endanger their safety.

While health experts say that a vaccine to prevent infection is necessary to restore life to normality, the survey speaks of an issue potentially related to confidence in the Trump administration, which has already come under fire for its often contradictory guidelines regarding safeguards against pandemic.

Some 36 percent of respondents said that they would be less willing to take the vaccine if President Trump says that it is safe, compared with only 14 percent who claimed to be more interested.

Most of the respondents conducted with 4,428 adults in the US between May 13th and May 19th said they would be greatly influenced by the guidelines of the Food and Barnas Administration or by the results of large-scale scientific studies if they show that the vaccine is safe.

Less than two-thirds of the respondents said there were “too much” or “disis” interested in the vaccine, a figure some health experts expected to be higher in view of the awareness of COVID-19n and more than 92,000 deaths associated with it in the United States.

Fourteen per cent of respondents said they were not interested in making the vaccine at all, 10 per cent were not very interested, while another 11 were insecure.

Inoculation studies are under way, but experts estimate that at least 70 percent of Americans will have to be isolated through a vaccine or an infection to achieve what is known as <x0); the population”, when there are sufficient resistance to an infectious disease to prevent its spread.

Among respondents expressing little or no interest in a vaccine, nearly half said they were concerned about the speed with which studies are being conducted. More than 40 percent said they believe that vaccine is more dangerous than disease itself.

President Trump has pledged a vaccine will be ready by the end of the year, though it usually takes 10 or more years to develop and test for security and efficiency. Many experts believe that a vaccine fully approved by the government will not be widely available, at least until mid-2021.

Some experts have said that the White House's emphasis on speed may concern people that safety is being sacrificed for the sake of speed.

Moreover, social media disincentives have increased during the pandemic period, according to academic researchers.

The survey highlights that even the deepening polarization of the country has influenced how people view pandemic.

Nearly one in five republics say they have no interest in a vaccine, more than twice as many Democrats who say the same thing.

Worldwide, there are more than 100 candidate vaccines for COVID-19, including some already in clinical trials with people.
