Protest against collapse of National Theatre in Tirana

Democratic Party Chairman Lulzim Basha has indicated he will support today's protest of the Alliance for the Protection of Theatre, following the collapse of the National Theatre building in Tirana.

Basha has called on the Albanian opposition to be part of this protest to protect the theatre.

“Today, the Alliance for Theatre Protection has announced a protest for today at 16:30 and has called for the greatest presence of citizens is the leadership's decision to fully mobilise our structures, calling on all Albanian opposition people to be fully protected by the coalition for the protection of theatre in this protest against this macabre crime and flagrant violation of the constitution and law”, he said.

Protests against the collapse of the National Theatre building have taken place yesterday in Tirana, where there have been arrests. Albanian artists have also solidified their counterparts from Kosovo through a symbolic action before the National Theatre in Pristina.
