The sentence of one year and three months in effective prison for subsidies to Etem Arifi, deputy from the Ashkali Party for Integration (PAI), has legally resulted in the loss of the status of the Republic of Kosovo MP.
The prison sentence against Arifi, in January of this year, was confirmed by the Supreme Court, thus retaining the sentence of a year and three months pronounced by the Court of Appeals.
Vjosa Osmani at the media conference said Arifi has received a mandate in last legislation, and now the Parliament has no space to make decisions.
On August 20, 2018, he received his full might, not in this legislature. So the Assembly has no space for action, but the error was by the CEC, which has precise criteria within which it should mandate the MP, Osmani said.
