“Today, I signed the decision to form the Work Team for the preparation of analysis for the establishment of the Institute for Crime Research committed during the war in Kosovo. This team will do a controversial analysis/topping on establishing the mechanism for investigating crimes committed during the war in Kosovo, as well as identifying the comparable good practices and reflecting elements and specifics that can be included in the Kosovo case”, Minister Haxhiu has said.
But an identical institute was open to the Kosovo Government's decision from 2011 to 2018.
By 2018, the Ministry of Justice had closed down, then establishing a special department within this government dictatorship.
In order to document war crimes, the Government of Kosovo in 2011 had established the Institute for Investigation of War Crimes (IHKL), which was originally led by Professor Zejrullah Gruda and then by Professor Ismet Salihu.
According to unofficial information, evidence and evidence for the war crimes of Serbia's police and military forces in Kosovo have been collected throughout these years. However, due to Kosovo's non-membership in international justice organisations and courts, which could handle the indictment against Serbia, such an act has not yet been undertaken by the state of Kosovo, as it would be threatened to be rejected because of international subjectivity still not sufficiently recognised internationally as a state. / P ERISCOPIA
