In this year's coronary crisis, we want to enable a European summer break, but we have to act responsibly. To succeed, rest must be predictable and, above all, secure”, Heiko Maas said after meeting with the foreign ministers.
He said security concerns two aspects: the first is allowing German tourists to return to safe homes, which requires gradual opening of borders and removing quarantine regulations.
Another aspect, Maas said, concerns measures against the spread of the coronary pandemic.
“We should be sure that we should not pay summer tourism for a second wave of infection. That is why we have to agree to health and hygiene standards at tourist centres”, the German foreign minister said.
He stressed that Germany as a world <x0 champion when it comes to travel” feels especially responsible when it comes to reopening the travel season.
He stressed that he hopes the German government's recommendations not to travel abroad -- at least in terms of European countries -- will be abolished on 14 June.
Today's “talks drew us to this end. We must continue this harmonisation of the positions and measures in the following days,” said Maas, broadcast kp.
German Foreign Minister also discussed reopening the tourist season with foreign ministers of countries known as tourist destinations of German citizens, including Croatia.
