Is it the right time to support the development of ecoturism in Kosovo?
Now when the economic package for supporting businesses to recover from the consequences of the COVID19 pandemic is being discussed, I appreciate that one of the areas in which this support should be instructed is ecotourism.
There are some facts that argue with the support of this sector that I'm going to try to argue with the following opinion.
1. Kosovo stands out for natural values that make a country very suitable and with great potential for economic development, so supporting this sector would stimulate the country's economy and the development of local businesses that provide services in this area.
2. Since during this season most of Kosovo's citizens will have no chance to go on vacation abroad, creating holiday alternatives within Kosovo would be a good opportunity for vacationers as well as eco-military service providers.
3. Ecotourism would necessarily directly help develop the local economy, even in the fact that all holiday money would be spent within the country in contrast with other years where most Kosovo vacationers spent money abroad.
4. Unlike other forms of intense tourism that stimulate the collection of large numbers of people in certain areas, ecotourism is known for small groups of people who made it possible to implement easier pandemic measures and develop activities without problem.
5. The variety of forms of ecotourisation that Kosovo can offer -- which included walking in nature, mountain tourism, rural tourism, the tourism of caves, climbers, climbing, and other forms of eco-tourisation -- enables the creation of various tourist packages throughout the year by making this sector attractive.
6. Supporting the development of eco-tourisation indirectly supports many other sectors that connect to this event, including traditional products, gastronomy, hotels, transportation, cultural heritage, etc.
7. Development of eco-tourisation would also help promote and recognise Kosovo's natural values, as well as awareness and education to protect the country's natural resources.
Finally, he shares the idea that it is the right time to support this sector, which has so far not had the right attention.
