Opposition leader Veselin has written on his Facebook page that Kurti's scuttled government has done nothing to help Albanians in the Presevo Valley.
Kadri Wessel's full statement:
Today I sent a letter to the institutions of the European Union to request their commitment to assist Albanians in the Presevo Valley. From the conversations I have developed with various political representatives as well as with numerous personal friends there, I have been informed that the situation is not good at all and that Albanians feel left out of the central government. Unfortunately, they can receive health services only from the Vranje hospital, which is already overloaded.
The dismissed governments have been indifferent and have done nothing for the Presevo Valley. But they do not represent Kosovo, because the real Kosovo is very close to the residents of Preshus, Bujanovac and Medvedja and would never abandon them.
So I called on the European Union to dedicate it to the Albanian community, a portion of the assistance it has given to Serbia. I also stressed that in co-operation and with the assistance of EU institutions, Kosovo could commit itself to expanding the capabilities and resources of the Gjilan hospital to make it available to Albanians of the Presevo Valley.
