Mitrovica citizens have been deeply concerned with bringing a police superior during the arrest of a young man who was riding a bicycle.
The event occurred today around 16:40 p.m. near the municipality's facility in Mitrovica.
One of the witnesses who had seen the event closely, who spoke on condition of anonymity, has announced about Kosova Prees, that the police superior has punched the young man twice in the head in the centre of town and in the presence of citizens.
Whatever we saw today. I don't know what that guy did, but we take him to the police, not with his hands tied between the city and in the presence of the citizens. This really makes sense to members of the police, much more so when the two officers are of a high rank”, this witness said.
Kosovo journalist Preess after he has arrived at the country and has understood from some eyewitnesses the event, has approached the police captain asking him what this citizen has done that should be beaten in the streets until he is tied up and in the presence of citizens.
The captain has argued violence by responding in the form of a joke that it's broken the jug hodge.
Police spokesman for the Mitrovica region, Avni Zahiti, has confirmed Kosovo's arrest of a citizen. He has not answered the question of why the citizen was punched by the police captain while he was handcuffed, downtown and in the presence of citizens.
“Yes, a citizen has been arrested for failing to respect or listen to commands” briefly clarified Zahii, without providing any additional details, arguing that there is no official report yet.
