Krasniqi against Kurt too: Constitution allows for new government even if it does not go to elections

The incumbent Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, has come up against the idea of forming a new government, demanding that it go to extraordinary elections.

According to Kurti, the “constitution has made it clear that a successful no-confidence motion produces elections and not another government, with the fact that there has not been any further proceedings in the Constitution, as opposed to the resignation, after which the Constitution has preceded that the president starts consultations with the winning party or coalition”.

Albert Krasniqi from Democracy Plus has spoken of this.

Through a Facebook text, Krasniqi says the Constitution in this case is clear and allows it to have another Government without going to the elections.

According to him, following the same procedures from the start, handing over the mandate of the first party from the last elections.

Krasniqi stresses that the second option, the distribution of the Assembly would have to happen only if there is a lack of parliamentary majority to form Government.

“Calling at the precedent for distribution of the Assembly after the successful motion of no confidence in the government would make sense if the Constitution did not have enough clear provisions on how to take place in these cases.

Our constitution is clear and gives options: e) launching procedures from the beginning for the election of the new government or the distribution of the Assembly. The second option should be only as a result of the lack of parliamentary majority to form the new government, or, if this is the political will of 2/3 deputies who would vote for the distribution of the Assembly”, Krasniqi has written. /Telegraphy/
