According to Flightradar24, a service of Internet navigation, the plane broke an earlier record of five hours and thirteen minutes held by Norweegian.
The BBC has not been able to independently verify the record since there was no complete data on flight time.
The aviation adviser and former BA pilot Alastair Rosenschein said the plane reached a “phenomenal speed”.
The average flight time from New York to London, according to Flightdar24, is 6 hours and 13 minutes.
