New Justice Minister Albulen Haxhiu plans to visit the country's north to see closely the work of institutions in that part of the country.
Haxhiu in an interview, Online Economy said concern remains Belgrade's influence on prosecutors and judges.
She further says that if the tax on products coming from Serbia continues to remain in force, justice institutions in that part have warned the boycott of work and strikes.
I've never visited there to see how close it was to the extent of its implementation, of course, among my plans will be to visit there and see the work of institutions there”.
“My main dependence on those institutions from Belgrade and you know that when the tariff is set they have boycotted or warned that they will release jobs or hold a strike if they continue to charge”.
I believe that institutions there should not depend on Belgrade, they are the justice institutions that need to work in the service of citizens. I'm going to take a report on what the situation is like, do the institutions cooperate with the relevant councils here and then plan the agenda”.
Speaking of the Kosovo-Serbia justice agreement, Haxhiu says the issue did not have to be discussed in Brussels, but that local institutions should be agreed on.
“I have been critical of the fact that I have considered it a political process, it did not have to be signed in Brussels, it is up to the institutions of justice to act and work in this direction, relevant advice in this case as has responsibility for all other institutions”.
Asked whether there is evidence of how much crime and smuggling are being fought in this part, Haxhiu said there is no information, EO reports.
I believe I'm already without an analysis. Clearly, smuggling, organised crime and corruption are very expressive in that part, and they act freely in front of justice institutions for such criminal acts”.
