Kosovo politician Ramush Tahiri says the president's case will be the main cause the country will go to the polls, which, according to him, will be held on February 28th.
Tahiri in an interview for Online Economy, says there will be no quorum of 80 deputies after the elections, when it will be voted for the president.
The main reason Kosovo will go to the polls is not to elect the president of the Republic because there is no concession for 80 deputies who are two-thirds in session to make the quorum when the meeting is held. So 80 can't be done, 61 to choose can be done but 80 can't. I don't believe even after the elections that I account to be held on February 28th that there will be a quorum of 80 deputies”, he said.
A European Union Foreign Policy Committee study published this month concerning the role and impact of false news in the Western Balkans during the 1920s-2020s, says Kurti Government has collapsed as a result of the disinformations.
This study, according to politicalologist Tahiri, is worked by persons who are not sympathetic to the Kosovo issue.
“Raport does not represent the EU position, it is working material for MPs, and this has been officially said by the EU as well. But even as a working material is bad for Kosovo, it is also working on people who are not sympathetic to the Kosovo issue and for reports that they view badly in Kosovo”, he said.
On the other hand, Tahiri says this study will not be taken on grounds by the Constitutional Court, which is considering the Vetevendosje Movement's request for the invalid declaration of voting for the election of the government on June 3rd, after MP Etem Arifi, who was sentenced by the Court of Appeals, had voted for that government.
“From the Constitutional Court does not assume that the court is addressing the specific institutions and that this part is not and does not work with initiative itself, the court is not fair, it is in procedure. Vetevendosje can impress as political parties found in this report as many pages 2 as there is for Kosovo for false news and impact”, he said.
“But this leaves a poor impression of Kosovo, can be used for internal warfare, like anything else, but is used for itself as false news or as fabricated news for specific purposes. What I'm saying is the bad report doesn't do Kosovo honor, it doesn't pay honour to the European Union, and whoever the authors of this local and external report are seen as not sympathetic to Kosovo and want to put the European Union on Kosovo's issues and for concrete events for which it gets”, Tahiri said.
