A report published by Lancet says that pollution in India has led to increased diseases such as lung cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and neonattal disorders, and respiratory diseases, resulting in millions of deaths.
Data shows that deaths from pollution in India are on the rise, rising from 1.2 million to 2017 to 1.7 in 2019, reports The Guardian, records Periscope.
India's capital city, Delhi, often becomes the world's most polluted city during the winter, while the city is trapped by a thick smog and contaminated air particles that raised over 500 percent above the level according to recommendations from the World Health Organization.
Six of the Indian cities are always among the world's 10 most polluted.
