Daniel Serwer: Vjosa Osmani's Albin Kurti poses threat to LDK, but is unknown

University professor “John Hopkins” in the US, Daniel Serwer, says that those who know him as Albanian lobbyist “do not have the right answer”. Serwer said he has never lobbied for Kosovo or Albania. He said years ago he had advised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while saying [...]
Serwer said he has never lobbied for Kosovo or Albania. He said years ago he had advised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, while he said he would have done the same with Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs,
If I did, I should register at the Ministry of Justice. It's a matter of public data that I consulted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo several years ago. I would be happy to do the same for Serbia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, but of course they don't ask”, Cerwer said in an interview for the Serbian media in Kosovo, “Kosovo Online”.
He has also commented on his statement that Madeleine Albright can play an important role in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
I certainly didn't want to suggest anything that might be conveyed as important news. Madeleine Albright is an important figure on the democratic side of the political equation in Washington and has strong views of the Balkans. People will hear it”, Cerer said.
He said he takes Serbia's president's statement, Aleksandar Vuciq, seriously, that he will never recognise Kosovo, while speaking of elections in Kosovo.
Serwer says Vjosa Osmani and Albin Kurti will endanger the most LDK than other parties.
I think that many KLA members will adhere to the PDK and the AAK. Osman and Kurti are probably the biggest threat to the LDK, especially with voters who are very young. But that's just speculation. Only elections can answer that question”, he said.
In the end, he congratulated Kosovo and Serbia to establish a warm “relationship between themselves and to establish embassies in each other's capitals.
“I would congratulate security from COVID-19, work and prosperity, as the economy recovers, an end to corruption and warmer relations for Kosovo and Serbia, including embassies in their capitals”, Cerer said.
